How to React - Boxing Split Decision - how to become a better boxer
Elbows tucked nothing landed an if anything did wasn’t flush
Practice combos, and angles. Wish you had a gym in SC
Ho are you to tell people who they can watch.
Good coach
Nice!!
Tank Davis has mastered this
You're wrong. If you can mimic the bad stuff, but can make it work for you, you're good to go. Coaching can be dynamic if you don't close your mind and be open to new ideas.
After this “analysis” I would seriously question this guy being my, or my kids coach. Dismissive and pompous. I’m not a hater, I’m just pointing something out.
”I’m not perfect….as Ryan Garcia’s not perfect” lol you can’t even hide your disdain for Garcia. Haterrrrr
This aged well… why do you hate Ryan so much? Is it because he’s a better boxer than you ever were AND he’s better looking? Or just because he’s better looking?
CompuBox suggests that you may want to do a better job of analyzing fights; remove your biases - counting punches is elementary arithmetic. According to CompuBox Garcia won 8 rounds out of 12 on punches alone; with only one of those rounds being subjectively determined based on power punches versus the volume of jabs. Look, Garcia's social media antics are completely annoying... 100% agreed, but as a boxing fan/pundit you MUST stick to the facts, rather than allowing your opines of his lifestyle to seep into and influence your analysis. And saying that Ryan won, not because Ryan has skill and natural talent, but because Devin Haney is a flawed boxer type analysis (post fight) is not a valid critique when considering Haney was, up until this fight, being considered by many to be in the P4P discussion. The time for that critique would have been during your prediction of the fight. What this post fight comment screams is your lack of objectivity, and frankly it's tantemont to a lazy analysis. It's a shallow ad hominem that diminishes your abilities as a boxing analyst, where your credibility takes the hit. And while we're at it, you can't call yourself a fight fan and miss fights like this; being dismissive of a championship fight without explaining the basis for your decision not to watch is not corrected by a milquetoast apology. It just makes you look like a silly casual. There is no room for unfounded criticism and hating for the sake of your wee feelings. And btw, stop talking about YOU before, during, or after your analysis. No one cares. And lastly get rid of that boring music loop; it lacks authenticity. Let's hope for the sake of your students, you're a better boxing coach than a fight analyst and UA-camr.
I got most of what you said. Here are my opinions: 1- Your dad passed knowledge to you. You were boxer and now a coach. Yet, you don't believe in power. I just don't get it. 2- One of the other factors was Ryan speed that delivered the punches (ghost) with good power produced incredible effects. 3- Compubox shown that during most of the uneventful rounds, Ryan landed more power shot than Devin. That was why there were big gaps in the other two judges. 4-You told your boxers (students) not to watch the fight to prevent picking bad habits. I totally disagreed. Students always learn something. For example, if your students watched this fight, they would learn not to do all those bad things that you are pointing out, besides some good things as well. 5- Remember, boxing is an entertainment sport. It is not like a surgeon operating on a patient. It should have wild factors as well.
Coach the referee got bribed by Bill Haney. Ryan beat the game in it's crooked glory. Ryan is not dedicated enough and he will be humbled by a great boxer. Boot's Innis, Spence, Teofimo, and Shakur these fighters are in a higher level. Ryan is a payday and I pray that he will be realistic and train without media. Work on your head movement and work on other strikes. Body shots ,right hand strength exercises and a lot of roadwork. Up hills and stop turning your back. Thanks for your opinion.
STUPIDITY RULES!!!!!
I have zero problem with clinch fighting in boxing and I enjoy watching it. It's one of the remaining tactics from a bygone era in boxing. The clinch game even today isn't as a prevalent as the Jack Johnson, Joe Gans, Sam Langford era.
That's great that you do! So to each their own and you are right that boxing had more wrestling tactics including throwing someone down which counted as a knockdown in the 1800 and then what we saw with the gentlemen you listed is the leftover of that. They have refined the rules over time to lead us to where we are. To support your point, fighters now don't work out of the clinch much and wait of the ref to break them and that is a bad thing. I appreciate your comment because I went through and revisited a Johnson vs Burns (Been years since I watched it) and Tommy shuts himself down sooo much with holding and the "clinch" makes the fight less thrilling then a good heavyw fight from the past 40 years. And if you contrast that with Chavez sr fights where they are checked on holding, often, it makes for a much more clock burning and time wasting pace of a fight. I see you enjoy a variety of MA's from your posts and that's awesome. As you know in Muay Thai there are different rules with that. You may have a fight with clinch and knees, no clinch etc. Boxing is a sport where holding is generally not allowed and not supposed to be aloud even though it happens by accident and they let it slide. The amateur now though are pretty strict. But again it's all art and sport so we all have our things we like, brother!
I've always consistently said that Devin Haney is the One-Trick Pony and is not nerely as good as he appears...time was not on his side.. and at this point he has absolutely NO positive 140-or above future as a champion.
Okay...let me shed a real light on this....Ryan Garcia CARRIED DEVIN HANEY...he could have knocked him out at Any Time 🙌💯.. These guys have a long ..long History....if Ryan had not had this Emotional connection Devin would have been thoroughly Massacred. In a Nutshell, this is what happens when a fighter meets an opponent with a different set of skills, has power...and shares a very similar Size ratio🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😉
How can i get better at feinting?
Work in the mirror and see how you start the first 5th/quarter of your punch. Then work on doing that starting movement in the mirror. Like you know, people do dumb stuff to fent that doesn't look like anything real is coming. Second, work a partner's defense. That way you can take your time and see if your feints actually get someone to bite or not in a controlled setting.
@@coachKeithKeppner thanks coach!!!!!!
@@gussstavo 100 percent!
To me Ryans speed is big a factor as his power.
*_F = mv_* ; where _F_ is the force, _m_ is the mass, and _v_ is the velocity. In terms of Newtonian physics, what this tells us is that Ryan's speed is a predictor of his power.
@@lsraeliPigletsROFL, it's what I was going to put down. Game knows game 'double pump peace sign'.
100% Excellence in training here!
🔥🔥🔥
Great stuff coach!!!
Thanks my friend!
You seem to be wrong a lot. Mayweather is unique. He should not be your example. Right hand should've been glued to his ear and use his footwork to avoid the bullrush. Also smother Ryan's piwer by inside fighting. Are there any humble coaches out there?
Thx Coach
That's all he has
This channel is toxic for boxing. Now he wants to apologize for for being ignorant. I know this dude is no boxing coach 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude, you must not have eyes....8 to 4 even without knockdowns!!!!! Garcia outboxed him even without knockdowns.. reallkllky biased buddy!!!
Even compubox without the knockdowns bring Garcia up 8 to 4 even without the knockdowns!
For sure styles make fights. In sparring i'm usually able to hit my opponent and match up well against their style. My style of fighting is a combination of long range (Think Shakur Stevenson) and also fighting in bursts (Like Mike Tyson) I have very long arms, and i'm muscular and powerful, so it works. But one time i sparred a counter striker who is powerful and he stands so far out of range, and he gave me alot of trouble. Since the range is so far (I cannot reach him with my jab, and he keeps moving backwards), i did the peakaboo and got into range multiple times. Each time i got in range, i hit him, but he kept hitting me with the right uppercut and straight, or he would just use lateral movement and move away completely. Weirdest sparring session i have had. I had to change my game plan, and had to neutralize his powerful right hand by extending my arm out towards it (I stand southpaw, so my left is stopping his right). I was also stalking him slowly with my front hand in an up and down motion, and cornering him and then throwing. It worked, the best style is really your ability to adapt. Some fighter's styles are almost made to beat yours, so you gotta change up.
PEOPLE PUT NO STOCK IN THIER AMETURE HISTORY SMH IDIOTS 😂, PEOPLE ACTED LIKE DEV TURNED INTO THANOS, RYE WAS COMFORTABLE WITH HANEY, UNLIKE TANK WIEGHT DRAIN ,TANKS POWER SKILLS STREET AURA ,RYE WAS A LIL SHOOK OF ,HIM DEV BOTH GREW UP IN AMETURE SYSTEM BOTH SUBURBAN KIDS, TOTALY DIFFERENT FIGHT
You defeat time itself
HOW MUCH DID YOU LOST MONEY WISE?
You Mr. are really taking side no doubt about it. that REF. was bias.and you know it. stop the BS.
Dude your a hater of Ryan. The ref didn't give a warning. While Hayney was wrestling holding grabbing for dear life who should have been warned that this is not wrestling. Your so off on your weak assumptions and assessments. Secondly this fight should have been over in the 7th round. The ref saved Hayney repeatedly and refused to call the multiple knock downs. Let me not talk about the false 8 counts once again favoring Hayney. Lastly your own statement you were not interested in this fight other than your a Haney fan. Cut it out your clearly Bais
You’re cocky and sound like a hater
Everything you said is absolutely correct. I am a nobody, trying to tell anybody about somebody, who can save everybody lol. Ok, I went somewhere else. When you spoke about Tommy Hearns and Pipino Cueavas, I was thinking about Hearns knocking out Duran. You are also correct about Ryan not listening. Garcia could have, should have finished Haney way before the decision.
As far as turning the back it's the feet that you look at how his feet are lined up is what matters and it's not really turned his back not disputing what you say but just give it an opinion
I give you a lot of credit it's hard for you to say you're wrong but I see you do it anyway so that's what's up
Hey bro you need to catch up with the news man it was all just an act he told you that
What are u talkin about mayweather was always turning his back and duckin below waist...both illegal
If you take away.... you're right. Pathetic. Whoever you train needs another coach. Its boxing. Reality matters.
Lost me at the 12/12 look at the compubox and all the knock downs 😂
This guy oviously hates ryan
I said for 3 years that Devin had holes in his defense and he hadn't faced anyone at the time who could expose those holes! Ryan had the speed and power to expose those issues! I tried telling people there was a reason why Bill and Devin avoided Tank Davis because to me Tank and Shakur have the best Boxing IQ from 140 on down! Both Tank and Devin would have beaten Devin and I'm not trying to disrespect Devin I'm just saying what I see! My father taught Boxing in the Navy before and during WW2 and he also taught me! I'm 59 and been watching Boxing since the Ali vs Frazier days which my first fight watching was Ali vs Frazier 2! Anyway I'm about to subscribe! Peace ✌️ ☮️
Devin every time he throws his right to the body he drops his shoulder and extends which to me is a no no. Devin has multiple issues with his defense and JoJo Diaz showed that he could be hit with the left hook plus he is open for the upper cut!
You hear this guy now they want to take away garcias punching power now to try to make sense of things theyre minds are broken😂😂😂 im loving this if i wasnt late to work i would have 1,000 n some change on me i was gonna bet 100 on Ryan winning wouldve been my first time betting too 😭😭 a chance like this wont come around again hopefully when i do decide to pop my cherry i end up winning 😂😂 i wish i Had just gone late to work and i had da receipt to rubb on ya faces especially those that lost money on haney😂😂😂😂
Is that deann
Yes!
The same guy who were making fun of him when he lost to brother thank now they are glazzing him 😂 loyal fans fk here
Excellent analysis in my opinion. Coach Keppner knows his boxing; I would encourage anyone interested in the sweet science to come visit Coach and the other coaches at his gym in Athens, GA (Keppner boxing) and get to work. Superior technical and fundamental teaching.
I will say this! A lot of these younger fighters do look unrefined and don’t look as sharp or tactical as their older peers. I still think mayweather jr could come out of retirement and win against Ryan or tank
Who the hell is this guy to say “ don’t watch him” why should we listen to you? What bad habits do you have?
Can you name me an all time great boxing coach that you respect and would listen to? I think you are having trouble understanding what a boxing coach is and does.
In addition to that question about what is a boxing coach throughout history that you would listen to and respect, where did I say that my fighters should watch me boxing and mimic me?😂😂😂😂
@@coachKeithKeppner I guess you have a point and you are clearly credited. Just sayin you can watch these guys and still take away something from the negatives and positives. Im not a fighter and for many like us we watch these fights because they are entertaining. I see you though señor.
What i saw that is very lmportant. I'm not a boxing couch, but I saw your fighter land on his a$$ 5 times. Not slips , just hard punishment!!!
That makes absolutely no sense lol the whole world knows Ryan has a mean left hook why would Devin be watching out for Ryan’s “Jab” lol
